Description

Eng. Lady Midday. Female demon, seen in the middle of sunny days, mostly on fields.
She makes people sick or kill them if they fast asleep on midday in her territory. Sometimes she
kidnap children playing on the fields.

One of 20 Polish demons I painted.

I like how there's an eerie, haunting feel even in sunny midday.

I'm looking for information about all kinds of European/Slavic folklore creatures, poleviks and poludnicas among them (that's how I found this, too). They're not the most known (unlike, say, rusalkas). Apparently they can be classified as "demons", though. Can you name sources that could tell something about them? (heh, I'd be happy to find out even what name I should call them in my own language, there doesn't seem to be any)
